Paw Profile: A CMS for Animal Shelters

Paw Profile is an intuitive content management system designed specifically for animal shelters and rescue organizations. My goal was to create a platform that streamlines the process of showcasing adoptable pets, allowing shelters to focus on finding loving homes for animals.

Tools and Technologies

For this project, I chose Remix and Sanity as the backbone technologies.

Remix: This framework facilitates fast, server-rendered web applications. Its focus on SEO and user experience made it ideal for building a site where potential adopters can easily find information about available pets.

Sanity: A headless CMS that offers flexible content management. I created custom schemas for pet profiles, enabling shelters to add photos, descriptions, and adoption requirements effortlessly. Sanity’s real-time updates allow for immediate changes, ensuring listings are always current.

Customizable Website: Shelters can tailor their sites to reflect their unique branding and needs, making it easy to engage potential adopters.

Integrated Pet Profiles: By managing pet profiles directly on their websites, shelters can eliminate the need for external listings, streamlining the adoption process.

Real-Time Updates: Shelters have the ability to update content and listings anytime, ensuring that their information is always accurate.

Paw Profile empowers shelters to connect with adopters more effectively. There are a lot of tools out there that help manage internal, day-to-day operations. I didn't find many that helped shelters with their customer/ adopter facing platforms, like building a website or sharing adoptable animals without having to use an outside site, like Petfinder. I look forward to seeing how PawMatch continues to evolve and support the incredible work of animal shelters.
